STRENGTHENING CUSTOMS ENFORCEMENT

Pursuant to the Executive Order issued on June 3, 2026, which is intended to strengthen U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) enforcement capabilities, underwriting requirements have become significantly more stringent. As a result, it may be difficult to obtain bond approval for newly established companies that lack a substantial U.S. presence, a history of compliant importing activity, or that are domiciled overseas while utilizing a questionable U.S. address.

POLICY

***BOND, CF5106, CAIN SERVICES***

Subject to the Surety's review, additional supporting documents, such as financial statements and an indemnity agreement, may be requested.

CBP is conducting bond sufficiency review monthly. We would highly recommend for you to determine the bond amount you need for the long term. It is the IOR’s responsibility to ensure they are forecasting an adequate bond amount to cover their activity. Minimum bond ($50,000) only covers $500,000 duties and fees for a year.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) can terminate a customs bond, though it is typically a measure of last resort used when an importer is deemed negligent, fails to respond to sufficiency warnings, or is suspended.

Once a bond is issued, all sales are final. Bond fees are non-refundable, including in cases of early termination or changes to your import status.

Please note that a $200 processing fee will apply if the bond application is declined by the surety company.

Once a CF5106 SERVICE, CAIN registered with CBP, all sales are final. filing fees are non-refundable
