CBP Guide for Hanjin containers
Dear our valued customers,
CBP has set forth the actions to be taken in the following scenarios involving imported cargo being transported by Hanjin Shipping.
Our major concern was an issue with vessels already arrived to the port but resting at anchor in the sea.
We now are confirmed that the carriers must continue to provide advance notification to local CBP ports of the pending arrival (CF3171) so that the importers don’t have to pay the duty without getting their shipments.
With above being said, we no longer have to hold entries for Hanjin containers.
Please also read the below article provided by Sandler, Travis & Rosenberg, P.A. Customs & International Trade Law for other scenarios.
